IMPA Year 2010 The worker-recovered enterprise movement was a popular reaction to the Argentinean economic crisis between 1999 and 2001. In a spirit of solidarity they demanded the establishment of worker-owned cooperative enterprises based on horizontal authority, collective decision-making and shared profits. Achieving the recovery of more than 190 bankrupt factories by more than 10,000 workers. IMPA is the most important reference of the recovered companies in the City of Buenos Aires, both for its role in the formation and development of the National Movement of Recovered Companies, and for its productive importance. By 2010 IMPA was the second largest aluminum company in the country in terms of turnover, processing and marketing aluminum in its foundry, lamination, extrusion and printing phases. PUBLICATION – Indómita Luz Magazine, Buenos Aires 2011

Los lápices siguen escribiendo 2010 Press Release (Fragment) In view of the deep crisis in our Schools and Universities all over the country, and in the framework of the NATIONAL STRIKE of University Teachers on September 16th and 17th, the CONADU Histórica and the University Federations of Buenos Aires (FUBA) and La Plata (FULP) are preparing a massive National March for Thursday September 16th at 6pm, from Congress to Plaza de Mayo, in defence of public Education and for the budget. The call is made under the common slogans of increasing the education budget, reopening of the teachers’ unions, repeal of the anti-education laws, closure of the cases and an end to the persecution of students and teachers. In addition to these demands, there are the particular demands of the teachers’ and students’ movement. 34 years after the Night of the Pencils, the memory of the disappeared comrades and the demands in defence of public education are more valid than ever. City of Buenos Aires, September 1st, 2010.

Oberá Documentary Short Film – 2010 Community Theatre is a social movement developed in Argentina based on the idea that art is an agent of social transformation with the conviction that everyone is essentially creative. Professionals, students, retired people, teachers, young children. Everyone can participate, learn and can teach, as it is an art that is based on the inclusion and integration of each individual. The content of the works are based on the individual experiences of each member who shares with the rest of the group. Each person tells anecdotes, stories and moments from their daily life related to a particular theme and from the exchange and dialogue new ideas emerge to add to the work. Age divisions, typical of the consumer society, are eliminated and “everyone can do everything” is imposed. In an automated world based on the false idea of consumption as a possible way to a “dignified” life, Community Theatre affirms the opposite and bases its foundations on the active, creative and participatory human being. https://vimeo.com/50715404?share=copy
